Nepal Relief Fund Assists Earthquake Recovery

John Mead was a member of the Board of Directors of the Nepal Relief Fund, which made 8 grants totaling just over $100,000 to positively impact the lives of those directly affected by the disastrous 7.8 magnitude earthquake that struck Nepal on April 25, 2015. An avid outdoorsman and hiker, John was in Nepal during the earthquake and felt compelled to assist those in need.

Through the efforts of John Mead, David Carter, Charles Hasbrook, Ace Yake, and many contributors, the fund helped to construct schools in Chyangba and Jalapa Devi, purchase school supplies, partially fund a math/science teacher, and partially fund Phase One of the Wongchu Sherpa Memorial Hospital near Chyangba
