Jeffrey R. Oberlies
Jeff Oberlies is one of the founding shareholders of Leeuw Oberlies & Campbell, P.C. He has significant experience in handling insurance defense litigation, specializing in first party arson and fraud since 1991. Mr. Oberlies has been a contributing author and speaker for the Indiana Defense Lawyers Association and Insurance Institute of Indiana Seminar on "Examinations Under Oath." Mr. Oberlies’ experience as a deputy prosecutor in Lake and Marion Counties, Indiana, from 1986 through 1991 has contributed to his ability to litigate fraudulent claims and other complex litigation. Mr. Oberlies also practices in the area of business litigation.

Born in Indianapolis, Indiana, in 1961, Mr. Oberlies graduated from Wabash College in 1983 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in political science. While at Wabash, Mr. Oberlies was a member and officer of The Fraternity of Phi Gamma Delta and the recipient of the Will Hays Scholarship for interest in public service. Mr. Oberlies graduated from Indiana University School of Law – Indianapolis in 1986. At Indiana, he was a member of the Order of Barristers, competing in the Dayton University Administrative Law Moot Court, and a member of Delta Theta Phi. In 1994, Mr. Oberlies was appointed to the Indianapolis Civilian Police Merit Board and served as its President until 2001.  In 2009, he was appointed to the Indianapolis Metropolitan Civilian Police Merit Board and served as its President through 2010. Mr. Oberlies is a former member of the Board of Chapter Advisors for The Fraternity of Phi Gamma Delta, Psi Chapter, at Wabash College. He has served as the Chairman of the Awards Committee for the NCAA Division I and II Indoor Track and Field Championships. Mr. Oberlies is a member of the Indiana and Indianapolis Bar Association, the National Society of Professional Insurance Investigators, the Defense Research Institute, and the Indianapolis Association of Wabash Men.

Mr. Oberlies has extensive criminal trial experience (over 100 jury and bench trials) as a deputy prosecutor in Lake and Marion Counties from 1986-1991, as well as extensive and successful civil trial experience since 1991.
