Jan Campbell is one of the founding shareholders of Leeuw Oberlies & Campbell, P.C. Her civil litigation practice in federal and state courts since 1991 has involved contract interpretation, first party insurance coverage claims, arson and fraud claims, third party insurance claims, bad faith claims, and negligence suits. Ms. Campbell has extensive experience in researching and writing opinion letters on contract interpretation and advising insurance companies on claims questions. Ms. Campbell also conducts in-house seminars and continuing education seminars on complex contract issues, bad faith, federal civil procedure, and declaratory judgment actions with respect to policy interpretation.
Born in New Albany, Indiana in 1961, Ms. Campbell graduated from Western Kentucky University summa cum laude in 1983, and from Indiana University School of Law cum laude in 1987. She was a member of the Indiana Law Journal and Student Legal Services.
From 1988 to 1991, Ms. Campbell served as a federal judicial law clerk to the Honorable John Daniel Tinder of the U.S. District Court, Southern District of Indiana. She also served as a member of the Civil Justice Expense and Delay Reduction Committee for the Southern District of Indiana.
Ms. Campbell is a member of the Indiana and Indianapolis Bar Associations, the Indiana Arson and Crime Association, the Central Indiana Claims Association, and
Defense Research Institute. She is admitted to practice in the Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals, the Northern District of Indiana, the Southern District of Indiana, and the State of Indiana.
Ms. Campbell also serves as the Secretary for the Center Grove Middle School North Parent-Teacher Organization.
