Gene Leeuw is one of the founding shareholders of Leeuw Oberlies & Campbell, P.C. and is the firm’s lead litigator. Mr. Leeuw has a wide range of experience in complex litigation as well as real estate and business transactions. He has successfully prosecuted and defended a wide variety of actions in both federal and state courts in numerous jurisdictions, including contract, copyright, and construction disputes, trade secret litigation, negligence actions, and lender liability claims.

Mr. Leeuw currently serves Lieutenant Governor Becky Skillman as the Parliamentarian of the Indiana Senate and is a member of the Indiana Code Revision Commission.

Born in Fort Wayne, Indiana, in 1944, Mr. Leeuw graduated from Indiana University in 1966 and the Indianapolis Division of its School of Law in 1969. He was a Deputy Prosecutor from 1969 through 1974, successfully prosecuting several murder trials and numerous felony jury trials in Indianapolis and surrounding counties.

Mr. Leeuw served in the Indiana General Assembly from 1978 through 1990 chairing the House Labor Committee from 1984 through 1986 and the Public Policy Committee responsible for public utility matters from 1987 through 1990. He was a member of the Indiana General Corporation Law Study Commission and in 1986 authored the Indiana Business Corporation Act.

Mr. Leeuw has also served on the Boards of Directors of Shelby Federal Savings & Loan, First of America Bank, St. Francis Hospital, the Indianapolis-Marion County Human Rights Commission, the Marion County Community Corrections Center, and the Indianapolis-Marion County Building Authority, and as General Counsel to the Saturday Evening Post Society, the Curtis Publishing Company, and the Indianapolis-Marion County Public Library.
